The 12,000-strong hillside community of Lake View Terrace,
which still has its share of horse ranches, overlooks Pacoima and, indeed, a good portion
of the Valley, including nearby Arleta. Wild animals can be heard, and seen, at
Wildlife Way Station, located in the Angeles National Forest just above Lake View
Terrance. The facility treats more than 3,000 animals annually. The goal of
the Way Station is to return the often exotic animals they nurse to their natural
habitats, but while the injured are healing, the public can visit them. Tours are
given twice a month, and reservations are required. |
